Prayer for Godly Children

  Prayer Journal - Thursday 1/29/26

Today's readings are:

I am so grateful today for all the answers to prayer this week.

In today's reading from Matthew, Jesus is explaining that it's impossible to obtain eternal life by our own means. It is impossible to keep all the Commandments perfectly in our actions and hearts and it is only through God's grace that we may be forgiven and welcomed into heaven.

I'm also deeply comforted by Jesus' welcoming the children to him. I wish my notes had more information about why the disciples rebuked them in the first place. I did a little googling and it seems like in that culture, children were either seen as potentially annoying to Jesus or they weren't seen as worthy of His precious time. Ouch!

Father God, thank You so much for Your love for us and Your grace upon us. Thank You for loving our children even more than we can imagine. Thank You for calling them to You and wanting to bless them. Please help me to be a better mother and help me to bring my child, and any future children, up to know You and love You with their whole hearts. Please guide their lives, give them wisdom and discernment as they grow, and speak to their hearts so they may know You as their Father and their perfect Friend. Please help them hear the Holy Spirit when you speak to them and give them strength to carry out Your purpose for their lives.

Help them to know why You created them and that You have a special plan that only they can accomplish. I love You, Lord, and I thank You for my precious boy. Please be near to him always. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
