Reflection on Discipline

 Devotional Reflection - Wednesday (10/29/25)

Today's readings from the Bible in a Year website are:

Paul gives a great example of godly living as he wraps up his letter to Titus in chapter 3.

May we all be considerate and gentle, rather than slanderous and contentious, and may we remember we are only justified through Christ's grace and mercy.

This doesn't exactly relate to today's reading, but I wanted to share that it has been difficult for me to post these blogs this week. It's ironic since last week I was talking about wanting to grow my aMCC by doing things I don't want to do, and this week, I have pretty much had to force myself to sit down to write up my reflections of these scriptures. Reading them is easy but contemplating and letting them really sit on my heart and then write about it isn't always as simple! I always feel so uplifted and blessed when I finish, though. This whole challenge has been a huge blessing to my soul!

I hope it brings some comfort to any readers here, that this isn't always easy. Even if we do wind up finding true joy in the end, we might not even start if it were JUST up to us. God's help is truly necessary.

Father God, Thank You for Your grace and mercy on us. Thank You for helping me do the things that are good for my soul this week like spending time reflecting on Your Word. Please help me continue to build discipline to do things that benefit my life especially when I don't particularly want to do them.

Help me to remember that there's nothing I can do to win Your love because You've already given it freely. Please help me to be more considerate and gentle and give me the right words to say. Please give me wisdom and discernment and help me to do the things I need to do each day. Thank You for Your Word and for speaking to our hearts when we seek You. Please continue to protect my loved ones and help my son to grow to know and love You with all his heart.

All this I ask in Your Precious Son Jesus' Name, Amen.
