In Gratitude for Scripture

 Devotional Reflection - Friday (10/24/25)

Today's readings from the Bible in a Year website are:

In 2 Timothy 3:14-17, Paul writes:

14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is [k]inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for [l]rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; 17 so that the man or woman of God may be [m]fully capable, equipped for every good work.

This gives me such comfort, especially 16 and 17. All Scripture is indeed inspired by God and beneficial to us so that we may be capable and equipped!

And fortunately, we have the saving grace of Jesus when we fail and falter.

I am so grateful to have time each day to spend in the Word and it helps my soul feel joy even when my body is tired or when my mind tends toward worry.

Father God, Thank You for giving us Your Holy Word that we can follow to be capable and equipped for life. Thank You for the wisdom, guidance, joy, and comfort that reading it brings. Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to save us because even though we can be equipped we will still fail. Thank You for Your love for us. I ask that You would please help strengthen my faith, give me wisdom and strong discernment, and keep my family safe and healthy. I also ask that You would seek out the hearts of those who have caused hurt and turn them toward You. In Your Son Jesus' Name I pray, Amen.
